I grew up in Vermont, but rarely visited Bennington until I decided to move back to Vermont in 2005.
When I first visited Bennington, I was struck by the quaint downtown, and soon realized that Bennington was part of the National Mainstreet Program and was a designated Downtown, recognized by the National Historic Trust.
The Mainstreet Program is administered by The Better Bennington Corporation, and they operate their office out of a former Blacksmith Shop at the corner of South Street and Elm Street in Downtown Bennington.
Bennington also encompasses North Bennington and Old Bennington. Click either town name to jump to the information pages for either.
